What is Nutritional Medicine?

So what is Nutritional Medicine and Natural Medicine? You might be wondering... How can I use nutritional medicine to heal my body from sickness and feel as good as I can?

Natural medicine has been practiced for thousands of years and encompasses many traditional therapies such as Ayurveda medicine from India, Traditional Chinese medicine as well as ancient greek philosophical medicine.

As a nutritionist and nutritional medicine practitioner I practice under and believe in the Principles of Naturopathic Medicine, which are based around treating my patient holistically and not just focussing on symptoms, as well as educating and empowering my patient to take control of their own health and wellbeing though dietary and lifestyle choices.

If you come to see in my practice you will notice that our work together encompasses these ideas. I'm not about putting a bandaid on your health issues, i'm about fixing the causes whilst addressing the ongoing symptoms so that you can feel better both short and long term, and not have a recurrence of the issue down the track.

So do I help people to lose weight? The answer is yes sometimes, if that is what's required to allow my patient to feel their best. Treatment is about how nutritional medicine can be used to re-balance every system in our body for optimal health and wellbeing. Sometimes weight loss can be a lovely side effect of this!
