Are you in Perimenopause?
Not sure what your symptoms are telling you? Take my quiz to find out if your symptoms are likely because you're in Perimenopause (EVEN if blood tests tell you otherwise.)
Take the QuizHey there! I'm your Perimenopause nutritionist.
Is this you?
You're having all of these weird symptoms- some you know are hormonal (like the classic hot flash!) but others you're not so sure about.
The doctor ran some tests perhaps, but everything came back "normal" and they said there's nothing going on.
But then why are you feeling so crappy a lot of the time?
The thing is- Perimenopause can't be picked up on a blood test most of the time, but that doesn't mean you aren't Perimenopausal. We can tell more from the symptoms you are experiencing, and from there we can figure out what to do about it!
So take my quiz to find out- are you or aren't you? I'll give you some more info about Perimenopause along the way.Â
 Happy quizzing!

Â
Some things to note before you start..
Â
Whether you want to put a label on it or not, the symptoms I outline below are giving you information about your body. I cannot diagnose you as being “Perimenopausal” or not, but what I CAN do is tell you that based on your symptoms there are certainly some shifts happening in your body that can be managed with some diet and lifestyle changes.
A common misconception is that a blood test can diagnose you as being in Perimenopause. That’s not always the case- especially during early Perimenipause- your hormones are fluctuating hour to hour and big shifts may not show up on a test. That’s why SYMPTOMS are a much better wat to get an understanding of what is happening.
Â
What’s happening during Perimenopause?
Â
The average woman will experience Perimenopause over 2- 12 years before they enter Menopause. Menopause is defined as from the time you have not had a menstrual periods for 12 months.
In the early stages of Perimenipause we start to see reduces levels of the hormone Progesterone, which can mean shorter cycles, longer periods and more mood swings!
As we progress, we can start to have fluctuations in oestrogen causing things like hot flushes (bleh) and brain fog as well as sporadic periods.
Then, as we head further along towards Menopause, we experience low oestrogen, which can have an effect on libido, memory and brain function and cause weight gain because of a new resistance to insulin.Â
The graph below shows you what our hormones are doing over our lifespan. See how erratic they become during the Perimenopause phase??
This is what your hormones look like in Perimenopause...
The graph opposite shows you what your reproductive hormones are doing over your lifespan.
As you can see in the graph opposite, even more so than when we hit puberty (which was a bit of a wild ride lets be honest!) our hormones start to become more erratic as we head perimenopause.
